Assessors are central to maintaining workplace first aid as they play a key role in supporting trainees throughout the training and assessment process.

You'll learn how to work within the policies and procedures of your employing organisation to ensure you and the learner are adequately resourced and that moderation and other quality management systems are in place.

Assessors are central to maintaining workplace first aid as they play a key role in supporting trainees throughout the training and assessment process.

In this course, our in-depth lessons and scenario-based activities will give you:

  • the skills to evaluate a trainee's skills, knowledge and competence in the workplace against the requirements of unit standards from the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF)
  • a Workplace Assessor certificate
  • First aid courses are non-refundable. Please refer to our training terms & conditions.

    Course Content

    We'll teach you how to be a workplace assessor who will:

  • Plan assessments with learners and others involved in the assessment process
  • Guide learners on how best to collect evidence of their competence
  • Assess learners’ evidence against unit standard requirements
  • Provide feedback and advise on results and arrange for re-assessment if necessary
  • Report results to the relevant Industry Training Organisations (ITO)
  • Maintain records of assessment activities and results
  • Participate in moderation activities
  • Prerequisites & requirements

    Attendees must be:

    • over 14 years of age
    • able to complete assessments in English
    • working for a training workplace
    • first aid courses are non-refundable - please refer to our Ts & Cs for more details.

    Please note: Following the in-class training session, it is expected that you will follow up with the post-course requirements (up to 80 hours) including supervised learner assessments against the unit standards. Further details on these post-course requirements and portfolio submission will be explained in class.
