Our Mental Health First Aid course will teach you the skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to someone experiencing mental health concerns
- Almost half of the people in Aotearoa, New Zealand will experience mental distress or illness in their lifetime, so chances are someone you know or care about may need help
- Ideal training for anyone, including managers, responsible for their staff, those interacting with the public, or simply anyone who wants to improve their knowledge around mental health
- This course will help you build your own mental fitness as well as being able to assist others
- We also offer an Online Mental Health First Aid course, and a construction-focused Mental Health First Aid course (in-class) with our partner Site Safe

Course Content
Understand the relationship between mental health and distress
Understand ways to manage your own mental health
Know and use the Listen to your HEAD Action Plan in a non-crisis and crisis situation
Identify when a person may be experiencing a mental health crisis
Identify agencies who can help and /or know how to get immediate assistance if necessary
Understand the importance of self-care.
