Pre-hospital Emergency Care Refresher

Our PHEC Refresher course is a cost and time saving way to renew your current Pre-hospital Emergency Care certificate.

In this course, our in-depth lessons and scenario-based activities will give you:

• Renewed confidence and skills in using CPR, resuscitation, extrication techniques and immediate, advanced first aid assistance in any situation, especially in isolated locations
• Revisit pre-hospital care equipment and techniques along with any new methods and tips we've learned since your last training
• An opportunity to discuss special equipment and conditions specific to your workplace
• An invitation to enrol in our Emergency Response Awareness course* where you can complete post course theory activities and on successful completion receive unit standard 29322 (5 credits) "Demonstrate knowledge of emergency response systems in New Zealand"

Recognise and provide pre-hospital care including:

Scene and hazard management

Patient triage/prioritisation

CPR with equipment such as airway and oxygen

Defibrillator (AED) use

Patient monitoring

Managing deceased patients

Medical or trauma conditions changes

Moving patients/extrication

Attendees must be:

• 18 years or older
• Certified with a current PHEC or PHEC Refresher certificate that is less than 2 years old
• Physically capable of kneeling on the floor to do CPR
• Able to complete assessments in English
